1999 JN6 Yamaha Golf Cart Won't Start

Changed out battery and generator belt on my 1999 JN6 Yamaha golf cart and NOW it won't start. Turns over, has fuel, has spark, no blown fuses

any help?

Was it running before you changed the battery and belt?

Yes, always fired right up. Just a maintenance battery and belt change.

Does it have compression? did you power wash it when it was hot before you worked on it, sometimes a valve will stick open. just thowin' it out there

I hosed down engine but avoided battery compartment. Plenty of compression.

Could you reversed the polarity on the new battery and hooked the positive cable to the negative and it turning backwards?
