85 EZGO Gas 2 Stroke Charging Issues

Hello All... I have a 85 EZGO 2 stroke. I'm wondering if my stater generator is on its last leg? Voltage at battery not running is almost 12v. at idol its about 11.5 ish when full throttle it raises a little but not over 12v. Anyone know what it should be? I am thinking it should be above 12v? after a couple days the battery goes dead.
Anyone know if you disconnect the battery while its running should it stay running? thanks

Check your voltage regulator. More than not it is the problem. That voltage regulator is around $100. I have wanted to try a later model regulator because they are a lot less. Maybe Hot Rod or Diode could tell us if they will work.
