Identity Connection on Forward and Reverse Switch

just for fun

Hey, on my forward/reverse switch housing there is what looks like a connection on the bottom that plugs into a harness. I cannot tell what it is for.

That is the diagnostic port for an iQ DS, you may have a regen cart which does not have the port which would be explain if there is no corresponding plug on the golf cart end, they use the same FNR just with or without the port.

You only need the 3 wire set up at the top, The 4 wire harness is only for the diagnostic port where you would plug a curtis hand held device to it. That port usually gets corroded and becomes non functional. The other end of the 4 wires plug into the controller as shown below and the hand held can be plugged in there for diagnostics. That port on the controller should be kept clean though.

This shows that only 3 wires are necessary for the FNR switch. Its hard to get a good photo because it is directly under the tow/run switch and my big ass lithium battery is in the way
