steering colum FAB HELP !

has ANYONE shortend ]cut down] there steering colum ? or is there a post somewhere about it ? I'd like to shorten mine about 4 in. I hate that TALL thing being in my chest an stomach even with a small GT wheel ..

2001 club car

Club Car makes a 3" shorter column. If you want to shorten yours, disassemble the column, cut shaft towards middle, cut 4" off shaft. Use a piece of angle iron to lay the shaft in to keep straight while welding. Cut 4" off aluminum tube and reassemble.

I was thinking of cuting it an re-welding it with a color over it just for added strenght wasn't sure what all was in there since I havn't torn it apart !!!
