2013 G29 Backfire

I purchased a 13 Yamaha G29 last weekend and it was backfiring when letting off of the throttle.
I took the carb off, cleaned it, made sure the jet was clear.
I replaced the air filters, spark plug and all 3 carb gaskets.
I put some seafoam in the tank.
It is still backfiring.
Any other things I could try to stop this?

I have a 98 G16 the issue you described is similar to my issue. Did you eventually find a resolution?

I have not yet. My next step is to adjust the valves and see if that works.

Regarding my issue,
I did run the gas tank to a very low level, it does have some sediment on the bottom of the tank. Think my first move will be to check the fuel flow first, then maybe remove and clean my carb and replace my fuel filter.
The sound of the exhaust is very noticeably louder. If the fuel system cleaning doesn't work at that point I'll check the valve lash.

Looks like it for sure!! I'll have to check my exhaust to see if I have the same issue.

I'll bring this to a shop and see if it can be welded back together. Glad I checked before taking the fuel system apart.

That would be a cheaper option than a new exhaust.
