Broken Primary Clutch

My primary clutch is broken..
Rebuild or replace with aftermarket?

What's broke on the clutch?

One of the weights is lodged beyond the rollers. All three steel rollers have flat spots on the rollers.

If it was mine I'd probably buy a new clutch.

You can replace the rollers and make the original clutch live a little longer.

The cost of an aftermarket Chinese clutch is about 150 - 180 $. The cost of the steel rollers is about 50 bucks, plus buying the clutch removal bolt.
I gotta figure the oem clutch is a much better unit than it's aftermarket counterpart.
I'll have to get the clutch off the engine and see if there's any other problems with it.
If the rebuild doesn't work then I'm out some time and maybe 60 bucks..

If you have to buy a clutch get one from a major supplier . Don't get the ones off amazon .

Have you had personal experience with the Amazon clutches?

I have had customers bring them in to put on their carts because they did not want to spend good money on a factory clutch. Some last about a year others don't operate correctly or engage too fast

I haven't pulled the primary out yet. I see the rollers do have a flat spot warn on them. I'll go the rebuild route. Watched a YouTube video. I enjoy doing this type of work as a hobby.

I'm sure it will be good, definitely makes sense to rebuild the oem clutch.

Installed the new rollers and new drive belt.
Seems like it runs fine. Real test will be the longevity of the work !
