DC Shunt Motor MOT B4

Looking for recomendations for wire size to the Field terminals on the 48 volt Admiral MOT B4 at a max of 500 amps. Changing this cart from series motors to shunt type. Also have two good series motors and a Navitas DSE1000 controller to get rid of.

Good 10 gauge with many strands of copper wire should work. 8 gauge would also work but is overkill.
