Voltage Regulator/Replacement

Has anyone ever used a Ford voltage regulator in place of a Yamaha regulator?

Interesting question. On my 2018 the voltage runs from 11v on initial acceleration to 17v at top end. I recall somewhere that max voltage on typical VR should be less than 35 v. So it should work as the generated voltage on a golf cart should be less than a car.

Unless the input voltage on the Yamaha is significantly less than required to bias the zener diodes to conduct.
